Rangers are back to business on Saturday and it's vital to beat Dundee United. We need to take the three points at Ibrox to keep the pressure on Celtic in the hope that they slip up at Ross County the following day. Of course, we will have our chance to reduce the points deficit the following weekend when we go to Parkhead in the League game. Sure, that will be a tough fixture, and even tougher with no Rangers supporters inside the stadium, but we can win the game, I feel. However, we need to take care of the immediate business and that is beating United.
On our last outing we had a comfortable win at Motherwell and I was very pleased with Todd Cantwell and Malik Tillman. They both really impressed. Todd has settled in very well and is now really imposing himself on games. Malik also has quality written all over him. But it will take the effort of all of the players to win on Saturday and that is what Michel Beale will remind the squad of.
Remember, Dundee United are fighting for their lives and we must never underestimate a team with survival on their minds. However, we are better than them and we will prove that on Saturday.
We will also have the backing of our magnificent supporters and that is going to be vital in the run-in to the campaign.
I had the pleasure of being back at Ibrox last weekend for the Legends game and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - even though we lost 4-3! More than 25,000 turned up to see the game and the backing of our fans never ceases to amaze me.
I also enjoyed seeing some former team-mates and sharing a few laughs with them.
It was nice to spend time with Jonatan Johansson. I hadn't seen JJ for almost 20 years. I also caught up with Kenny Miller for the first time in many years.
I know that Jaap Stam and Robin van Persie also enjoyed the experience.
Jaap is still very fit and looks after himself. Robin has not long retired and still has so much to offer. Both were brilliant on the day.
I hope there are many more of such occasions with the Rangers legends in the years to come.
But, for now, my focus is on the current team and hoping that we can win every game between now and the end of the season.
It's a tall order, I know, but that has to be the aim when you are with Rangers.
